Partnership can also be described as an alliance, cooperation, friendship and comradeship to name but a few. Each member of the Graig-y-Rhacca Communities Partnership has a special part to play and without each of us the Partnership would not be one of the most successful in the Caerphilly Borough. The Partnership is made up of various people from all different areas of expertise and I thought it may be useful to see who does what. There are many people who are often unseen and overlooked but are always there in the background, giving us support whenever we need it.

These advisors are people like Jeff Cuthbert AM, Wayne David MP, Mike Bridgman of GAVO, Jan Billinghurst of GAVO, Mary Spiller Finance Officer, Jo Davies Research Officer, Jill Salter BitC, John Rogers legal and Ian Medlicott. All these people have been busy behind the scenes, lending their services to us at Graig-y-Rhacca and on your behalf I would like to extend our thanks for their support.

Then there are the fantastic Regeneration team who have been there with us both professionally and personally, offering guidance and even a shoulder to cry on. I have often felt that these have been like parents to us and as they have watched us grow I hope that we make them proud. So a big thanks to Jan Bennett, Tina McMahon, Sharon Peters and Tiffeny Davies. At this point I would like to pay tribute to John Morgan for his outstanding support that often went beyond the call of duty. He has been there for the Partnership on both a personal and professional level and we shall miss him dearly. We do of course wish him every happiness and hope he enjoys his retirement.

We welcome our new LASTING Officer Gina Jones who has been extremely busy already, preparing loads of bids and supporting all of our local community groups. Thanks go out to the rest of the Communities First Team, Jane Patterson, Maria Chapman, Rhos Griffiths, not forgetting of course Steve Cole and Gerwyn Harris.

A mention has to go to our local Police Officers, PCSO’s and Community Safety Officers who have untiringly supported our Partnership. They have managed to attend most Community Safety meetings and regularly meet with partners as well. I am sure that all will agree that we have really been working well as a team and this is one of the many reasons for the progress that has been made in our village.PC Dean Williams served as our Ward Officer and has now moved on to other pastures. I would like to extend a big thank you for the way that he served our community. We welcome PC Stuart Lewis as our new Ward Officer and look forward to working in Partnership with him and his team.
