The team is working with Shirley from the Activity Club @ GYR RC and Steve Thomas of GAVO about the possibility of intergenerational working.

The Hub will contact the council about cleaning the youth shelter and will arrange a litterpick to clean up the children’s park

Young people had complained about the bins at the skate park, this was reported to the council and there have now been proper bins placed inside the metal outer cages.

Young people have identified the need for an environmental project in GYR and youth workers are currently in the process of arranging this for possibly June.

Junior PACT was held in April and young people express their concerns about issues that affected them in the community. The young people voted on two priorities and identified drinking and drug misuse. At the end of the session the young people had the opportunity to try on the police officers safety vests and other equipment such as handcuffs etc. The young people thoroughly enjoyed this and some stated that they would like to be police officers. The police told the young people about police cadets, which young people can join at 16 years of age. The police have kindly agreed to provide the young people with the information on a future visit to a Hub session.
